Will Apple Store obtainable on June 27th? 06/24/2008
The most amusing part of the new iphones is the release dates. Recently, in a keynote address, Apple mentioned that the App store was to be launched soon. The date was decided as June 27th. But we don’t see any signs of such release. In a strategic move, Apple has joined hands with The performing arts center of the University of Kansas, the Lied Center. Apple will distribute 50,000 special Lied Center iTunes cards to the public in the Midwest US. Now the benefit is, each card will enable them to download 20 free songs by the artists performing at the Lied Center during 2008-09. Apple to impose price tags for applications 06/18/2008
In a report that was released by MacNN Apple has stated that it will impose price caps and size caps for the applications of iPod and iPhone touch. The file size of these applications will be limited to 2GB, although most of the applications are less than 2 GB in size. The recent figures released by the company state that around 25,000 had applied for the dev program. Out these many only 35% were admitted. Around 25% of the fortune 500 companies participated in this program. The company in tandem with Cisco is trying to develop a secure and safe VPN mode. Many people and mobile and software news watchers felt that the new firmware from Apple will be released in the World Wide Developers’ Conference but this may not be true. According to Apple Inc., freeware are not taken seriously by people and considered frivolous and junk. This means that even good and useful software when offered for free may not be taken seriously and usually are lost among the sea of software that are released everyday. AppStore, based on iPhone, will be launched by Apple with next one or two months. Chances are that it will be launched at the World Wide Developers Conference which is scheduled to take place on 9th June 2008. The iPhone become cooler, if that is possible, with the introduction of the Griffin iTrip AutoPilot FM transmitter. The iTrip AutoPilot not only looks slick, it comes with SmartScan that can search and save up to three FM stations. It also built to support RDS, which allows it to display details of a track being played on the head unit. |
