The most amusing part of the new iphones is the release dates. Recently, in a keynote address, Apple mentioned that the App store was to be launched soon. The date was decided as June 27th. But we don’t see any signs of such release.

It was also stated that the App store and also the 2.0 firmware which will be both for the iPhone and iPod touch will be available on 27th June, 2008. But that is also very contradictory to the timeline which was mentioned in the keynote address.

In a strategic move, Apple has joined hands with The performing arts center of the University of Kansas, the Lied Center. Apple will distribute 50,000 special Lied Center iTunes cards to the public in the Midwest US. Now the benefit is, each card will enable them to download 20 free songs by the artists performing at the Lied Center during 2008-09.

It is a very exclusive card and will be available at the Lied Center Ticket Office and it paves the way for the Lied Center to draw new supporters and provide on hand ones a way to confine a foretaste of the upcoming season.

In a report that was released by MacNN Apple has stated that it will impose price caps and size caps for the applications of iPod and iPhone touch. The file size of these applications will be limited to 2GB, although most of the applications are less than 2 GB in size.

Many people and mobile and software news watchers felt that the new firmware from Apple will be released in the World Wide Developers’ Conference but this may not be true. The firmware may be made available only to certain carriers who will first test run it.

If the test run is successful it will available for everyone in two weeks. If there are some problems with the new firmware, then Apple will go back to the drawing board and fix it before releasing it. The new iPhone will be 3G compatible and will come with GPS enabled. The look of the iPhone is still a mystery.

According to Apple Inc., freeware are not taken seriously by people and considered frivolous and junk. This means that even good and useful software when offered for free may not be taken seriously and usually are lost among the sea of software that are released everyday.

Apple is now all set make 30% of all sales made by developers of freeware. Therefore, acting on its experience with Installer.app, apple has asked all developers to not give out their widgets for free. The reason for this encouragement might be that Apple to have a high quality signal and low noise level.

AppStore, based on iPhone, will be launched by Apple with next one or two months. Chances are that it will be launched at the World Wide Developers Conference which is scheduled to take place on 9th June 2008.

Speculation is also rife that a few close partners of Apple will get access to AppStore at the launch and the third party developers will get it later. The reason for this general feeling is that it is unusual for Apple to allow access to everyone at once while going for a launch.

The iPhone become cooler, if that is possible, with the introduction of the Griffin iTrip AutoPilot FM transmitter. The iTrip AutoPilot not only looks slick, it comes with SmartScan that can search and save up to three FM stations. It also built to support RDS, which allows it to display details of a track being played on the head unit.

The controls dongle of the iTrip AutoPilot has playback functions built on it and it can also show the frequency that is currently being used. It is priced at $99.99 and is apparently going to enter the market soo. The iTrip AutoPilot can also be used with iPods that have a doc connector.
